The push for “quality homes” has featured in China's Government Work Report for two consecutive years, first appearing in 2025 with a call for homes that are safe, comfortable, environmentally friendly and intelligently connected.[1] The policy formalises a shift in housing expectations, away from basic provision and towards a higher standard of everyday life. The 2026 report builds on this, calling for the advancement of quality home construction and measures to raise property management standards.[2] That shift is accelerating technology adoption in the building electrical sector and driving demand for intelligent services. With a focus on greener, smarter buildings and living spaces, GEBT brings together the integrated solutions that support better homes, well-managed estates and more liveable districts.
Ms Lucia Wong, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, said: “GEBT 2026 will explore new opportunities in intelligent building solutions and smart living technologies. Through technology showcases, standards promotion and industry collaboration, we will continue to support the sector on its path to fully integrated intelligence, from individual homes through to whole buildings. As a leading platform for intelligent building and the electrical sector, we will continue to deliver efficient, professional services, working with our industry partners in pursuit of a greener, smarter and more sustainable future.”
Leading industry brands unite across themed joint exhibition zones
GEBT 2026 will bring together leading brands and their latest solutions, with Hall 12.2 dedicated to home automation and Hall 13.2 to low-carbon intelligent building.
Hall 12.2 explores how home automation is reshaping the way people build and live, with exhibits covering audio-visual and entertainment systems, smart sun shading and curtains, home security and intercom systems, home wiring, smart lighting control and smart appliances. Demonstration areas bring these technologies into realistic living scenarios, from home cinema and smart wellness spaces to connected kitchens, letting visitors experience first-hand the convenience and efficiency that smart systems bring to everyday life.
Hall 13.2 moves from the home to the building as a whole, featuring low-carbon intelligent building solutions spanning building automation, intelligent monitoring for plants and equipment, integrated energy management and new energy and energy storage technologies. Exhibits demonstrate how AIoT, the Internet of Things and big data analytics can optimise energy use and enable real-time monitoring of performance and carbon emissions, with intelligent scheduling and control helping to improve efficiency and support the sector's transition to sustainable, low-carbon built environments.
